Don has been doing outreach around native bees for many years. Targeting community groups, citizen scientists, and students he single-handedly has raised awareness of and conservation needs for our native bees. Here are some pics and video clips demonstrating proper netting techniques and bee removal from net.
Both in the classroom, in this example with graduate students, and in the field Don has worked tirelessly over the past many years bringing attention and awareness to our native bees while helping educate our next cohort of native bee researchers.
Once the bee is in the top of the net, it is time to transfer it to a tube or other container for examination or cooling pre-examination.
